Show opens October 24 and will feature a 16 piece orchestra, with rehearsals beginning in August

The role of Johanna will contain partial nudity created in a back-lit shadow motif... In one scene, as Johanna enters, she will walk behind this huge keyhole... (4 ft wide by 6 ft high) with a white piece of nylon material stretched across the hole part... then a bright white spot comes on behind the actress and she begins to undress... like she is undressing for a bath... it appears she gets naked and the Judge is downstage of the keyhole lasciviously peering in to watch all this... You won't see a naked body in full light or even what you might see behind a back-lit scrim, but rather a naked body in shadow... We did a similar thing in "Tommy" and it was strong and seductive... The actress was not completely naked behind the screen, but she wore a tight pair of white thong panties and she was topless behind the sheet. Again, it's in shadow... and it's not fully naked...but it appears that way... Anyone interested in auditioning for this role will have to sign a waiver stating that you would do this scene the way the director intends to stage it and that you will be partially nude on stage. Also in regard to Johanna... we prefer the actress have blonde hair, so we may ask you to dye your hair for the role if you have a darker coloring. We may consider doing a wig, but it is a last resort.

We are only auditioning teen and adult actors for this role (age 16 and up)... We are not doing the young boy casting that was done in the recent film of "Sweeney Todd"..

NOTICE - WE ARE ALSO ACCEPTING FEMALE PIRELLI'S SIMILAR TO THE RECENT BROADWAY REVIVAL OF SWEENEY TODD. WE PREFER A MALE, BUT IF WE ARE IMPRESSED WITH A FEMALE WHO AUDITIONS AS A MAN WE MAY GO THAT ROUTE.
